For thousands of North Devon people, from Barnstaple children to Bideford pensioners, domestic pets such as dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish and ponies provide a lifetime of pleasure and company. Occasionally, however, things go wrong: aged carers die suddenly, personal circumstances change or, even in a nation renowned for its animal lovers, innocent domestic animals find themselves on the receiving end of cruelty and mistreatment.
The North Devon Animal Ambulance is there to help
Fortunately, due to your generous donations, hard-working volunteer fundraisers and committed volunteers the North Devon Animal Ambulance (NDAA) is there to help. The following is just a small selection from the many examples that the team deals with.
WARNING: some of the pictures on this page are graphic and may upset you. Though they’re unpleasant, we feel it’s important to show them so you can fully understand the challenges facing the North Devon Animal Ambulance.
Could you help the NDAA look after animals like these?
Heart-warming or heartbreaking, these stories all have one thing in common. Without your continuing support, we wouldn't have been able to take the action that we did and the outcomes could have been very different. Thank you.
Could you help the North Devon Animal Ambulance look after animals like Matty and Shadow and the others featured on this page? Whether it's fundraising, a donation, a legacy or a few hours' help in our charity shops, the NDAA needs your support to continue its work in North Devon. You really can make a difference, so please visit our Fundraising page to find out how to help.
